Free and intensive Eye Screening: The Mayoress reassured more collaboration for greater Ikosi Isheri LCDA

 The Intensive Free Eye Care Screening Event Theme: Together for better vision, was organized by the Mayoress of Ikosi Isheri LCDA in collaboration with Julby Health Concern Initiative was held today, at Maidan Primary Health Centre, Mile12, with the objective of providing the residents of Ikosi Isheri LCDA and its environs with access to comprehensive eye examinations and raise awareness about the importance of maintaining good eye health.

The Mayoress of Ikosi Isheri LCDA Princess Samiat Abolanle Bada was ably represented at the event by the Deputy Mayor Hon Olayinka Ogunleye who took the opening remarks on behalf of the Mayoress in which he highlighted the significance of regular eye check-ups and the role of community-based initiatives in promoting public health.


Several Certified and experienced ophthalmologists and optometrists were on ground to provide a range of Eye Care Services to the Participants. Some of the services provided are: Comprehensive Eye Examinations, Refraction Testing, Intraocular Pressure (IOP) Measurements, Eye Health Education, Distribution of Informational Material, blood pressure check, provision of medicated glasses, general & eyes health counseling, weight check, random blood sugar test and many more. 

The turnout at the event was impressive, with over 200 indigent residents were receiving eye screenings and consultations.The beneficiaries expressed gratitude for the opportunity to have their eyes checked free of charge. Several cases of refractive errors, early signs of glaucoma, and other eye conditions were detected and promptly addressed, highlighting the importance of such initiatives in preventive healthcare.

The representative of the Director of Julby health concern Initiative Dr Adewale G.O said the success of this initiative underscores the potential impact of community-driven healthcare programs, so therefore extends her sincere appreciation to all volunteers, medical professionals, and participants who contributed to the success of the event, and promise more collaboration between her organization and the community.

Mayoress Princess Samiat Abolanle Bada Distributes Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu's Food Palliatives to Ikosi Isheri Residents

In a heartening display of solidarity and support, Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu's food palliatives were distributed to the residents of Ikosi Isheri Local Council Development Area (LCDA) today. The distribution, orchestrated by the Mayoress and her team, exemplifies the Lagos State Government's dedication to alleviating the challenges faced by its citizens during these unprecedented times. The food palliatives, comprising over 5,000 crates of eggs, bread, yams, and various other essential items, were distributed to party faithfuls and residents across Ikosi Isheri LCDA. WHO IS KAFILAT OGBARA

  Mrs. Kafilat Ogbara was born to Alhaji and Alhaja M. Ade. Kasumu’s family in Aiyepe Ogun State. She attended Adrao International School in Victoria Island and Federal Home Science PSchool Ikoyi, Lagos respectively. Her Secondary School Education was at Federal Government Girls College Langtang, Plateau State.
