Mayoress Led Lagos Commissioner for Physical Planning to Magodo Community to Settle Land Dispute

The Honorable Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development for Lagos State, Dr Oluyinka Olumide today visited MRA to conduct an official inspection to the Magodo community in response to an invitation from the Mayoress of the Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Princess Samiat Abolanle Bada. The purpose of this inspection was to facilitate the resolution of an ongoing dispute between the Onikosi Family and the Magodo Residents Association (MRA), led by Mr. Sheriff. 

The primary objective of the visit was to reestablish a peaceful coexistence and find a lasting resolution to the conflict.

The following key participants were present during the inspection:

1. Dr Oluyinka Olumide , the Honorable Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development.

2. Princess Samiat Abolanle Bada, Mayoress of the LCDA, who extended the invitation to the Commissioner.

3. Hon. Fatai Gbadebo, 

4 Alhaji Chief T.A Olukosi, and 

5 Prince Bayo Onikosi, representing the Onikosi Family.

6. Mr. Sheriff, Chairman of the Magodo Residents Association (MRA).

The Honorable Commissioner utilized the opportunity of the visit to thoroughly inspect the disputed land boundaries within the Magodo community. This inspection involved a comprehensive review of the relevant documents, physical boundaries, and discussions with the representatives of both parties.

During the inspection, Dr Oluyinka engaged in open dialogues with Prince Bayo Onikosi and Mr. Sheriff to understand the core issues leading to the dispute. The Commissioner aimed to identify common ground and explore potential solutions that would put an end to the ongoing conflict.

He therefore reassure the residents of Magodo and the Onikosi Family that a lasting resolution to the dispute would be achieved. The discussions during the inspection were conducted with a commitment to fairness, justice, and the best interests of the community.

Also present during the official visit is the Secretary of Lagos State Governor's Advisory Council Alh Mutiu Are who advised the Honorable Commissioner to invite both parties to his office, so as to carefully listened to both parties and amicably resolved the dispute. 

Today's official inspection by the Honorable Commissioner was a continuation of the Mayoress of Ikosi Isheri LCDA, Princess Samiat Abolanle Bada's effort to ensure the community lives in peace and harmony, which also marks a significant step towards resolving the dispute between both parties.

These also signify progress in the quest for peaceful coexistence within the Magodo community.

The Honorable Commissioner assured the community stakeholders that further discussions and actions will be undertaken to ensure that the dispute is fully resolved, and harmony is restored in Magodo.

Mayoress Princess Samiat Abolanle Bada Distributes Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu's Food Palliatives to Ikosi Isheri Residents

  Mrs. Kafilat Ogbara was born to Alhaji and Alhaja M. Ade. Kasumu’s family in Aiyepe Ogun State. She attended Adrao International School in Victoria Island and Federal Home Science PSchool Ikoyi, Lagos respectively.
