This multifaceted initiative, funded personally by Hon. Olowo, aimed to address both nutritional and financial needs during the Christmas period and beyond.

Distribution Details:

The distribution took place on 24th December (for aged and widows) and 25th December for all other constituents at O1 Arena, along Morocco Road, Shomolu, Lagos, where Hon. Olowo led the effort to ensure the seamless allocation of 5000 chickens and rice to indigent members of Shomolu Constituency 1. He also added cash tokens to some identified members whom he categorized as the poorest among the constituents.

The event fostered a sense of community and solidarity, with the former representative reassuring his people of renewed hope for more interventions even after completing his office tenure as a Lagos Assembly member.

Purpose of the Initiative:

The initiative served as an opportunity to provide essential food items (chickens and rice) to the indigent members of Shomolu Constituency 1, which also came with a cash token to the most indigent community members during this Christmas period. This holistic approach aimed to address immediate concerns while empowering recipients with the flexibility to meet other essential needs.

Personal Commitment:

It is crucial to highlight that this comprehensive initiative is solely funded by Hon. Rotimi Olowo's personal resources, showcasing his ongoing commitment to the welfare of the community even after completing his tenure as a honorable member of the Lagos State House of Assembly. He reassured the constituents that this intervention will continue as a testament to his enduring dedication to Shomolu Constituency 1.

Community Impact:

The distribution of chickens, rice, and cash tokens had a significant impact on the indigent members of the community who may struggle to afford festive meals during the Christmas period. The initiative not only addressed immediate material needs but also contributed to the overall well-being and festive spirit of the recipients.

Community Response:

The community responded with gratitude and appreciation for the thoughtful and comprehensive support provided by Hon. Rotimi Olowo. According to one of the beneficiaries, Mrs. Aulat Seriki, "Hon Rotimi Olowo has over the years proved beyond a reasonable doubt that he cares for us. Though this is not the first time he's bringing smiles to the faces of our people, this year's initiative is highly impressive, and we shall continue to say thank you to him."

Another beneficiary, Mr. Amusan Badmus, said the initiative was perceived as a meaningful gesture that went beyond traditional food distribution programs. He acknowledged the financial challenges caused by the removal of fuel subsidy, making it difficult for families to cope with nationwide food inflation during this festive period. "We shall continue to pray for O1 Arena boss (Hon Rotimi Olowo) for success in all his endeavors now and in the future."

Conclusion:

Hon. ROTIMI Olowo's annual distribution of chickens, rice, and cash tokens exemplifies a holistic and compassionate approach to community service. His personal commitment to the well-being of the indigent members of Shomolu Constituency 1 resonates as a commendable and enduring act of public service.
