Community Leaders in Greater Kosofe Appreciate Senator Abiru's (150 bags of 50kg Rice) Relief Packages to Flood-Affected Communities










In a remarkable gesture of solidarity and compassion, Distinguished Senator Tokunbo Abiru, representing Lagos East Senatorial District, fulfilled his commitment to ease the suffering of residents affected by the devastating floods of 2023. He distributed 150 bags of 50kg rice to the afflicted communities in Ikosi Isheri LCDA, Agboyi Ketu LCDA, and Kosofe LG, a kind gesture that not only provided sustenance but also served as a beacon of hope in the midst of adversity.

In Ikosi Isheri LCDA, Mayoress Princess Samiat Abolanle Bada championed the distribution, accompanied by other delegates comprising the senator's constituency officers, political leaders, and the Community Development Committee (CDC). They worked tirelessly to ensure efficient distribution of relief aid to those most in need, bringing relief and reassurance to the flood-stricken areas, and fostering a sense of solidarity and support among the residents.

The communities affected in Ikosi Isheri LCDA include Agiliti 2, Maidan, Orisha/Isheri, Ajegunle/Idera/Kiokio, Isheri-North, and Akinpelu, where members received vital assistance, thanks to Senator Abiru's generosity. Similarly, relief aid reached areas such as Odo-Ogun, Ajegunle, Owode-Elede, Osho-Ogun, Agboyi-town in Agboyi-Ketu LCDA, as well as Oworo coastal community, Ogudu, Ojota, and Mende community of Kosofe Local Government Area, ensuring support for those grappling with the aftermath of the floods.

During visits to the affected communities, the Mayoress of Ikosi Isheri LCDA, Princess Samiat Abolanle Bada, commended Senator Abiru for his empathy and generosity, emphasizing the significance of such acts of kindness, particularly in the face of economic challenges plaguing the nation.

Additionally, leaders of the Community Development Committees in the affected areas each offered their heartfelt appreciation for Senator Abiru's unwavering commitment to the welfare of his constituents:

  Princess Samiat Abolanle Bada Princess Samiat Abolanle Bada was born into the blessed family of the late Alhaji Olatunji Raheem Bada and the late Chief Mrs. Afolakemi Bada (JP) in Odogbolu, Ogun State, on December 28th, 1973. She attended Muslim Primary School in Odogbolu, followed by Odogbolu Grammar School, and completed her education at Ajao Estate High School in Anthony Village, Lagos. She pursued her diploma in Marketing at Ogun State University, now Olabisi Onabanjo University, and later earned her B.Sc. honors in Geography and Planning from Lagos State University, Ojo.
