Mayoress Flags Off: Ikosi Isheri LCDA Computer Training Empowerment Program



The Ikosi Isheri LCDA Computer Training Empowerment Program was officially inaugurated on Monday, February 12th, 2024, at the Ikosi Isheri LCDA ICT Centre,Babajide Olusola SanwoOlu Office Complex, Ikosi Isheri Council Secretariat. The event, marked by a palpable sense of excitement and anticipation, aimed to equip members of the community with essential technology skills to thrive in the digital age.

The program, featuring an array of courses ranging from Computer Basics to Cyber-Security, Microsoft Excel to Motion Graphics, sought to provide comprehensive training in various facets of information and communication technology. With a focus on practical learning and skill development, participants were poised to gain valuable insights and expertise in fields essential for personal and professional growth.

In her opening speech, the Mayoress Princess Samiat Abolanle Bada articulated the vision and mission of the program, emphasizing the importance of technology literacy in today's society. She underscored the commitment of the LCDA to empowering individuals with the knowledge and skills needed to succeed in an increasingly digitized world.

Among the programs offered were:

- Computer Basic Program
- Microsoft Excel
- Web Design & Development (Front-end/Back-end)
- Motion Graphics/Visual Effects
- Graphics Design
- Networking
- Cyber-Security
- Data Analysis
- Financial Accounting Software (QuickBooks, Tally ERP, etc.)

The Mayoress highlighted the significance of the ICT Centre as a hub of innovation and knowledge dissemination, symbolizing the LCDA's dedication to providing accessible technology training to community members.

Reflecting on the event, two participants shared their thoughts:

Anuoluwapo Awoderu: "As a graduate of Olabisi Onabanjo University Ago Iwoye, Attending the Ikosi Isheri LCDA Computer Training Empowerment Program has been an eye-opening experience for me. It's an opportunity for me to acquire a hands-on training in web design and development as one of the most  valuable skills needed in the modern days workforce. I am grateful to the Mayoress of my LCDA for providing this opportunity for me and other youths at no cost."

Another Participant Olujimi Olumide said As someone interested in cybersecurity, I was thrilled to enroll in this program. The introductory sessions on cybersecurity were comprehensive and engaging, providing me with a deeper understanding of the importance of protecting digital assets. I commend the LCDA for prioritizing initiatives that empower individuals with relevant tech skills."

The event concluded with a sense of optimism and determination as participants vowed to make the most of the opportunities presented by the ICT Skill Empowerment Program. With a renewed focus on youth empowerment and tech skills development, the Ikosi Isheri LCDA continues to pave the way for a brighter and more prosperous future.

Mayoress Princess Samiat Abolanle Bada Distributes Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu's Food Palliatives to Ikosi Isheri Residents

In a heartening display of solidarity and support, Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu's food palliatives were distributed to the residents of Ikosi Isheri Local Council Development Area (LCDA) today. WHO IS KAFILAT OGBARA

  Mrs. Kafilat Ogbara was born to Alhaji and Alhaja M. Ade. Kasumu’s family in Aiyepe Ogun State. She attended Adrao International School in Victoria Island and Federal Home Science PSchool Ikoyi, Lagos respectively.
