Ramadan/Lent Fasting: Mayoress Distributed 6000 Bags Of Food Combo and Cash Tokens to Residents.

  















Today marked a significant milestone as Mayoress Princess Samiat Abolanle Bada of Ikosi-Isheri LCDA distributed over 6,000 bags of food and cash palliatives to indigent residents in a demonstration of solidarity and compassion during the holy month of Ramadan and Lent Fasting. The event, held at Senator Adebayo Osinowo Hall, Ikosi-Isheri LCDA Secretariat, was met with prayers, gratitude, and praises from the beneficiaries.

The March edition of the Mayoress's monthly social/welfare intervention, themed "Ramadan and Lent Palliatives Intervention," aimed at supporting resident Muslims and Christians during this period of fasting and spiritual reflection. Each beneficiary received a combo package of rice, garri, beans, and a cash token to support their families.

In her remarks, Mayoress Princess Samiat Abolanle Bada expressed appreciation to the Executive, Legislative, and Management team of Ikosi-Isheri LCDA for their support and commended the stakeholders of the community and residents for their coordination and resilience. She also acknowledged the efforts of President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR and Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu in alleviating the suffering of the people and ensuring autonomy at the local government level.

The distribution of food palliatives during Ramadan and Lent by the Mayoress-led administration was lauded as a commendable effort that positively impacted the community, demonstrating the importance of solidarity, compassion, and proactive governance in addressing food insecurity and supporting vulnerable populations.

In her speech, Mayoress Princess Samiat Abolanle Bada emphasized the values of compassion, solidarity, and mutual support that define Ikosi-Isheri LCDA. She reaffirmed the commitment of the local government to standing together as one community, regardless of faith or background, and urged residents to embrace the spirit of giving and empathy.
