Project Commissioning Day 4: Kosofe LG Council Boss Barr. Moyosore Ogunlewe Commissions 10 Fully Equipped Classrooms at Mosafejo Primary School to Commemorate Administration's 3rd Anniversary with Week-long Project Commissioning

- As part of a series of activities planned over five days to commemorate the administration's 3rd year in office, the Executive Chairman of Kosofe Local Government Area, Barr. Moyosore Adedoyin Ogunlewe, today commissioned a state-of-the-art one-storey building comprising 10 fully equipped classrooms at Mosafejo Primary School. This event underscores the administration's steadfast commitment to enhancing educational infrastructure and opportunities for the children of Kosofe.

The ceremony, held at the school premises, was graced by Hon. Ekundayo Alebiosu, Honourable Commissioner for Waterfront, Lagos State, alongside local government officials, educators, community leaders, parents, and students. In his address, Chairman Ogunlewe highlighted the broader vision and achievements of his administration in the educational sector.

"Today, as we gather to commission this magnificent one-storey building housing 10 fully equipped classrooms at Mosafejo Primary School, we are not just inaugurating a structure; we are opening doors to countless opportunities for our children and investing in the future of Kosofe Local Government Area," Ogunlewe said.

He emphasized that the new facility is more than a physical structure; it symbolizes the administration's commitment to creating a conducive learning environment for every child in Kosofe. The new classrooms are designed to meet modern educational standards, featuring 100 big and 100 small desks and benches, ensuring students can learn in comfort.

Achievements in the Educational Sector

Chairman Ogunlewe provided a detailed account of his administration's efforts to uplift the educational landscape in Kosofe, highlighting several key initiatives:

1. Distribution of Free JAMB/UTME Forms: To support students' aspirations for higher education, the administration has distributed 1,000 free JAMB/UTME e-pins annually over the past three years.

2. GCE Support Program: The administration initiated a GCE support program for students retaking their exams. Beneficiaries have increased from 150 in 2021 to 300 in subsequent years. The next screening for GCE beneficiaries is scheduled for July 30th and 31st, 2024.

3. Free Tutorial Classes: Complementing the GCE support, free tutorial classes have been organized to prepare students for their exams.

4. Adult Education Initiative: Recognizing that education has no age limit, the administration has procured adult literacy materials and resuscitated free adult literacy classes to combat illiteracy in the local government.

5. Distribution of Educational Materials: To support young learners, 4,000 dictionaries have been supplied to public primary schools across Kosofe.

6. Health Support for Students: Regular deworming exercises have been conducted for all public primary school pupils to enhance their health and academic performance.

Vision for the Future

Chairman Ogunlewe reiterated his administration's vision for the future, aiming to replicate the success of the Mosafejo Primary School project across other schools in Kosofe. "Our vision is to see every school in our local government area transformed into a center of excellence," he stated.

He also expressed gratitude to the teachers, school administrators, parents, and guardians for their partnership in this educational endeavor, urging them to continue supporting the students' educational journeys.

To the students, the primary beneficiaries of this initiative, Chairman Ogunlewe offered words of encouragement: "Dream big. This building is a symbol of our belief in you and your potential. Use these classrooms as stepping stones to your aspirations. Let the knowledge you gain within these walls propel you towards a bright future."

The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks and a commitment from all stakeholders to continue working together to improve the educational landscape of Kosofe LGA. The commissioning of this new building marks a significant milestone in the administration's efforts to build a brighter future for the community through education.

As the ribbon was cut, the new classrooms at Mosafejo Primary School stood as a testament to what can be achieved with dedication, vision, and community collaboration. The future looks bright for the students of Kosofe, who now have better facilities to support their educational journey.
