Mayoress Officially Announced the Date for Year 2024 Edition of Ikosi-Isheri Ketu Magodo Annual Cultural Carnival: A Celebration of Unity, Culture, and Progress

  

The much-anticipated Ikosi-Isheri Ketu Magodo Annual Cultural Carnival 2024 was officially announced by the Mayoress of Ikosi-Isheri LCDA, Princess Samiat Abolanle Bada, also known as Madam Projects, during a press conference held yesterday, September 9, 2024, at the Senator Bayo Osinowo Hall, Council Secretariat, Ikosi. Adding star power to the event was popular Nollywood actress Mrs. Shola Kosoko, daughter of legendary actor Jide Kosoko, making the event even more captivating.

This year’s carnival, themed ‘Our Heritage, Our Pride: A Celebration of Culture and Unity,’ is set to take place on October 26 and 27, 2024. It promises to be an extraordinary event celebrating the rich cultural heritage of Ikosi-Isheri while fostering unity and economic growth. In attendance will be His Excellency, Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, alongside several other dignitaries, traditional rulers, community leaders, and distinguished guests, showcasing the cultural significance and prestige of the carnival.

Princess Samiat Bada emphasized that the carnival is not only a celebration but also a platform for community growth and development. She invited sponsors and partners to seize the unique opportunity to be part of an event that impacts both the social and economic landscapes of the local community. By sponsoring, businesses will gain exposure, connect with a diverse audience, and strengthen their brand’s presence while contributing to grassroots empowerment.

Carnival Highlights:

Day One – Saturday, October 26, 2024:

- Parade: A vibrant display of various ethnic groups from the Council Secretariat to the CMD venue.

- Opening Ceremony: Remarks from Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, performances, and appearances by royal fathers and other dignitaries.

- Guest Artistes: Live performances from Qdot, Haruna Ishola Band, the Kegites Group, Lagos State Troupe, Sangbeto, Igbo Troupe, Ijebu Cultural Troupe, and more.

Day Two – Sunday, October 27, 2024:

- Live Performances: Malaika and his band, Ayo Maff, Candy Bleakz, and emerging artists.

- Cultural Display: Additional performances by the Kegites group and other traditional acts.

- Raffle Draws: Exciting prizes for lucky winners.

With the support of royal fathers, partners, the media, and community stakeholders, Princess Samiat Bada is determined to make this year’s carnival a landmark event for cultural celebration and community progress.

Mayoress Princess Samiat Abolanle Bada Distributes Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu's Food Palliatives to Ikosi Isheri Residents

In a heartening display of solidarity and support, Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu's food palliatives were distributed to the residents of Ikosi Isheri Local Council Development Area (LCDA) today. The distribution, orchestrated by the Mayoress and her team, exemplifies the Lagos State Government's dedication to alleviating the challenges faced by its citizens during these unprecedented times. The food palliatives, comprising over 5,000 crates of eggs, bread, yams, and various other essential items, were distributed to party faithfuls and residents across Ikosi Isheri LCDA. WHO IS KAFILAT OGBARA

  Mrs. Kafilat Ogbara was born to Alhaji and Alhaja M. Ade. Kasumu’s family in Aiyepe Ogun State. She attended Adrao International School in Victoria Island and Federal Home Science PSchool Ikoyi, Lagos respectively. Her Secondary School Education was at Federal Government Girls College Langtang, Plateau State.
